Subject: Google Earth Placemark: Gordon_Park_Campsite.kmz
Date: Mon, 15 Jan 2007
I was playing with Google Earth over the weekend and discovered that
Bulawayo and the Matopos now have high resolution satellite mapping.
I've worked out where Gordon Park is (which I'm pretty pleased about
only having been once, driven by Norman, about ten years ago). It
might
be interesting to put this Gordon_Park_Campsite.kmz file on the website - and perhaps any others like
the location of their weekly meetings or other adventures.
Regards,
Neil Broughton
The above is a Google Earth Placemark(tm).
If you have Google Earth installed, you can double-click on the above
attached
Placemark file and it will fly you to Gordon Park. If not, you will need
to install Google Earth first (available at http://earth.google.com).
Google Earth streams the world over wired and wireless networks
enabling
users to virtually go anywhere on the planet and see places in
photographic detail. This is not like any map you have ever seen.
This
is a 3D model of the real world, based on real satellite images
combined
with maps, guides to restaurants, hotels, entertainment, businesses and
more. You can zoom from space to street level instantly and then pan
or
jump from place to place, city to city, even country to country.

And 20miles South of Bulawayo, you turn off the Kezi-highway into the Rhodes Matopos National Park...
